Glass Balcony Hatfield
A frameless glass balcony balustrade for a Hatfield first-floor extension — clean sightlines and compliant safety glazing above the garden.
A first-floor extension in Hatfield added a new bedroom with French doors opening to a Juliet balcony. Building regulations required a compliant balustrade, but the clients did not want bulky metal railings interrupting the view.
We specified a frameless glass balustrade with toughened safety glass and minimal stainless steel point fixings. The glass panels are set into a channel at the base and secured at the head with a discreet handrail profile.
The finished balcony provides the required fall protection while preserving sightlines to the garden below. From inside the bedroom, the glass virtually disappears.
