Structural Glass Harpenden
A frameless structural glass wall for a Harpenden rear extension — uninterrupted garden views and maximum daylight with minimal visible structure.
The clients in Harpenden had commissioned a contemporary rear extension and wanted the garden-facing elevation to feel as open as possible — without the visual interruption of conventional door frames.
We designed a frameless structural glass wall with a concealed steel channel at the head and a minimal bottom track for a single bi-fold panel that provides ventilation access. Fixed panels use structurally bonded glass with polished edges.
The result dissolves the boundary between kitchen and garden. Mature planting beyond the glass reads almost like a living artwork, and the space is flooded with natural light from first thing in the morning.
